Volunteering for the Holidays: Where to Give Back in DC

The holiday season is a time for giving, not just gifts, but time, compassion, and service. Washington, D.C., offers numerous opportunities to lend a helping hand and make a difference in your community. Whether you go alone, with family, or even with friends, volunteering this holiday season is something you don’t want to miss out on! ,

Here are three great places to volunteer this holiday season:

1. DC Central Kitchen– Help prepare and distribute meals to those in need. Their volunteer kitchen shifts are fun, team-oriented, and deeply rewarding.  More information can be found at dccentralkitchen.org

2. Martha’s Table– Volunteers can assist with meal prep or holiday drives. More information can be found at marthastable.org

3. Capital Area Food Bank– Sort, pack, and distribute groceries for families across the DMV region. A perfect way to spend a few hours giving back.  More information can be found at capitalareafoodbank.org

Your time can make a huge impact, and who knows, you might find a new passion or meet new friends who share your passion for giving back. So get out in the community and give back!
